Master’s in Professional Accounting

Jump-start your career with Adelphi’s one-year MS in accounting program.

A graduate degree in accounting is a passport to exciting career opportunities in today’s rapidly globalizing economy.

Through our rigorous MS in Professional Accounting, you will:
  • Master CPA Exam principles
  • Gain hands-on professional experience
  • Focus on career training and networking

The program is designed for motivated students, with undergraduate degrees in accounting, who want to complete the 150 credits required for a CPA license in New York state. For those students who have undergraduate degrees in other areas, the program can be modified to accommodate career switchers.

Beyond access to career-boosting internships and networking events, Adelphi hosts a yearlong professional CPA review program on campus, the only on-campus program offered by a university on Long Island or in Brooklyn or Queens, New York.

Why should I enroll in Adelphi’s Master’s in Professional Accounting Program?

  • Personal–The program provides small class sizes (typically between 20 and 25 students), personalized attention and faculty mentoring.
  • Internships and Mentoring–Adelphi’s Center for Career and Professional Development and Internship and Mentorship Program work closely with students to craft a standout résumé and fine-tune their interview skills. Then, our faculty members assist students in establishing contacts with various professionals in the field of accounting.
  • Networking With Professionals–You’ll have plenty of chances to network and to learn from the industry’s best and brightest. We regularly host executives from companies and CPA firms, who speak to students about the profession and career opportunities and on cutting-edge business trends.
  • Exceptional Prep for CPA Exam–A full year of Becker’s renowned on-campus CPA Exam review is available—unique to Adelphi.
  • Location—Adelphi is less than one hour away by train from New York City’s internship and professional opportunities and a short distance away from Long Island’s financial corridor.
  • Reputable—The School has held accreditation from AACSB International—the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business—since 2007, making it a veteran among an elite group of fewer than 6 percent of the world’s business schools holding membership.
