BA in Economics


Learn about global markets and expand your career horizons. With a degree in economics, you can go anywhere.

Students who earn a BA in Economics often move on to graduate study in economics, business administration or law. Others enter directly into careers in financial services, consulting and government.


Why Enroll?

Explore theories and principles of economics in small classes with accomplished Willumstad faculty members. They are recognized for their research in the areas of labor, development, environmental economics and systems of political economy and are all experts in Adelphi’s personalized approach to learning.


What Will I Study?

In this course of study, you’ll learn about currency systems, international trade and development and how economies work. You will become proficient in the newest ways of interpreting, analyzing and presenting data.

Within our BA in Economics Adelphi provides two different tracks:

Theory/Analysis Track

This concentration emphasizes the quantitative tools of economic analysis, mathematical modeling, game theory, and econometrics. Its objective is to prepare graduates for quantitative work in the public or private sector, or for graduate study in economics.

Policy Track

This concentration emphasizes policy tools, with particular emphasis on fiscal, monetary, and exchange rate policies. The objective is to prepare graduates for public sector work as economic analysts, or for graduate study in economic policy.
