About the Speaker

Ellen Pollock has been editor of Business Day, the business section at The New York Times, since April 2017.

Ms. Pollock came to The New York Times from Bloomberg Businessweek, where she served as the magazine’s editor. She was the first woman to hold the position at the magazine. Businessweek won a National Magazine Award for general excellence in 2012.

Prior to joining Bloomberg Businessweek, Ms. Pollock worked at The Wall Street Journal for 18 years as a reporter and editor. Articles she worked on as an editor at The Journal won Pulitzer Prizes in 2003 and 2005. She is the author of “The Pretender: How Martin Frankel Fooled the Financial World and Led the Feds on One of the Most Publicized Manhunts in History.”

Ms. Pollock is a graduate of Brandeis University and a great believer in the power of dark chocolate.
